Our private membership-only club boasts a beach club with one of the country's only genuinely secluded beaches, a 15-room all-suite luxury hotel, an award-winning championship golf course, 17 tennis courts, 4 pickleball courts, two deep-water marinas, a variety of casual and formal dining venues, a spa, a salon, a fitness center, the Vanderbilt Theater, an aviary with over a dozen exotic birds, and an observatory for stargazing. No other Miami resort or hotel offers the type of world-class luxury and 5-star level of service that we do.

About the role

This position plays a key role in the daily interaction and direction of all the staff members. All tasks and assignments are to be performed to achieve the Departmental/Club operational goals and objectives at the highest level in support of the vision of Fisher Island Club. In accordance with Fisher Island Club’s philosophy, all team members work together sharing a common goal of a successful and innovative club. Responsibilities

  • Maintain standards of member/guest services consistently.
  • Ensure staff operate at peak efficiency to maximize cottage availability with minimum overbooking.
  • Ensure the accuracy of front office records through direct and open communication with other departments.
  • Ensure all front office systems and control procedures comply with Club policy and procedures.
  • Responsible for hiring, discipline, and addressing performance-related matters in accordance with Club policy and governing laws.
  • Monitor payroll for accommodations staff and other expenses in accordance with the departmental budget.
  • Maintain open and clear communication with all internal departments.
  • In conjunction with night audit staff, ensure timely and accurate reporting of daily operating results and statistical information related to revenue and expenses.
  • Handle member/guest concerns relating to service and payment.
  • Attend meetings in the absence of the Director of Member Accommodations to determine information and/or activities impacting club cottage operations.
  • Prepare agendas and manage meetings as directed by the Director.
  • Train club cottage staff on new department policies and procedures to ensure smooth and seamless operation.
  • Maintain and update department policies and procedures.
  • Prepare the weekly payroll and work schedule for the staff.
  • Maintain operations manuals and logs updated.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and supervision of club accommodations staff.
  • Troubleshoot problems and situations to prevent recurrence.
  • Handle or refer member concerns/complaints according to Club policy and standards.
  • Report and document any observed or known safety hazards, conditions, or unsafe practices to management immediately.
  • Participate in member interactions/events throughout the property and other events as assigned.
  • Perform other job-related duties as directed.
  • Serve as an ambassador to promote all Club amenities and venues, including restaurants, spa, tennis, marina, UM health, FICA transportation, etc.

Requirements

  • Valid Florida driver's license required.
  • 2 to 3 years of Front Office or Guest Services, Club/Hotel/Resort managerial experience.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Accounting aptitude with the ability to manage payroll.
  • Professional, outgoing, guest-service-oriented manner.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of individuals and remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, and flexible; enjoy working with a variety of staff and guests.
  • Working knowledge of computers and software (Microsoft Office).
  • Detail-oriented; work effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; manage multiple projects.
