About the role
Update controls, HMIs, operating systems, and prints. Troubleshoot process issues, perform RSLogix troubleshooting, and set up, maintain, and configure industrial networks (ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet, Profibus). Drive continual improvements in process and controls through small and large-scale projects. Work closely with Level 1 and Level 2 Engineers to ensure quality and manage project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Update and maintain controls, HMIs, operating systems, and prints
- Troubleshoot process issues and perform RSLogix troubleshooting
- Set up, maintain, and configure industrial networks (ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet, Profibus)
- Implement continual improvements in process and controls for small and large-scale projects
- Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 Engineers to ensure quality and manage project timelines
- Configure and troubleshoot VFD setup, networking, and controls (Schneider Electric, Siemens, Toshiba)
- Work with Microsoft SQL, Kepware, and other Level 1 to Level 2 software
Requirements
- Excellent safety record and understanding of TCOS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or similar experience
- Ability to multitask and manage projects/maintenance outages
- PLC experience/expertise
- Willingness to learn and train others
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Visio, AutoCad, and other computer skills
- Willingness to work unscheduled hours/days
Preferred Qualifications
- Automation experience with RSLogix, RSLinks, Asset Center, Ignition, and other automation software
- VFD setup, networking, and controls experience with PowerFlex, Toshiba, and SoftStarts
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the metals industry
