About the role

Anton Skrabl Organ Builder is seeking a skilled Pipe Organ Builder to join our team in Rye, NY. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pipe organ building, restoration, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate existing pipe organs for potential repairs or restorations.
• Design and build new pipe organs according to client specifications.
• Maintain and service existing pipe organs to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with other members of the team to develop and implement restoration projects.
• Document all work performed for future reference and client records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Organ Building or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in pipe organ building, restoration, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience with various types of pipe organs, including historical and modern designs.
• Knowledge of pipe organ acoustics and sound production.
• Ability to work safely in a workshop environment with power tools and machinery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of pipe organ construction techniques.
• Experience with pipe organ tuning and voicing.
• Proficiency in CAD software for design and drafting.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
