MedTech Field Service Engineer
About the role
Our MedTech Field Service Engineer experiences a unique opportunity to employ their technical experience by collaborating with healthcare professionals and leading technical initiatives in medical device technology. You will be responsible for periodic maintenance, installing and updating as needed for medical devices including laboratory diagnostic units in hospitals across the United States, while delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing communication and customer support to on-site hospital staff.
- Organize, test, and update medical devices, install, and configure hardware, software, and network products.
- Conduct routine checks and record data from product tests after installation and configuration.
- Document and submit daily data while maintaining high standards of product support quality documentation.
- Maintain credentials required by Client’s customers through credentialing services such as GHX (Vendormate) or Reptrax.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Technical School in biomedical engineering or 3-5+ years’ experience in the repair, maintenance, and installation of medical diagnostic equipment used in a laboratory setting in lieu of education based on experience.
- Biomedical, hardware, electrical, mechanical and diagnostic repair and troubleshooting experience is required.
- Professional business acumen and effective communication skills required.
- Self-motivated individual who can work independently or collaboratively within a team, required.
- Ability to respond to clients by traveling when needed to address repairs or maintenance.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to ensure on-time completion of project assignments.
- An active and unrestricted driver license, and a personal vehicle for local work-related assignments.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and lift up to 70 pounds, required.
- Ability to clear hospital vendor credentialing requirements.
Qualifications
- Background in biomedical, networking, military, or field-based technician roles.
- Experience working in a technical role within a healthcare environment.
- Strong computer skills and comfort with troubleshooting with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and OneNote, etc.

Pay
The potential base pay range for this role is $35-$38 per hour. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
Schedule
Assignment-based schedule with 30-40 hour commitment per week and overtime as needed. This role comes with a guarantee of 24 hours per week but the expected work is up to 40 hours per week.
