Founded in 1979, MedLink Georgia is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to improving health outcomes across Northeast Georgia. We serve more than 69,000 patients through 34 locations, providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. Our services include primary care, pediatrics, behavioral health, women’s health, dentistry, imaging, diabetes and nutrition education, medication-assisted recovery, and pharmacy services. MedLink operates 8 in-house pharmacies and partners with more than 20 contract pharmacies to expand access to affordable medications. As a FQHC, MedLink Georgia serves as a vital safety-net provider, delivering high-quality care to underserved, low-income, and vulnerable populations regardless of their ability to pay.

About the role

Because our direct patient-care clinical pharmacy services are in the early stages of development, we are looking for a confident and proactive leader—someone willing to take initiative, build programs from the ground up, embrace challenges, and learn through innovation and experience.

Pharmacy-driven Initiatives

• Primary opportunities aligned with Population Health Management including care coordination and addressing prior authorizations.
• Quality Care Gap Workflows: Development of a workflow to address a risk-stratified population and significant gaps in care to meet key quality metric goals such as medication adherence.
• Exploration of Collaborative Clinical Services: Additional opportunities may include collaborative practice agreements, Medicare Annual Wellness Visits, and more.

Team

Gunnar Sickler, PharmD
Fellowship Site Coordinator & Preceptor
Gunnar Sickler, PharmD, is a clinical pharmacist from Winder, Georgia. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA, in 2019 and first joined MedLink Georgia in 2017 as a pharmacy intern. After returning to Georgia post-graduation, Gunnar managed MedLink’s fourth pharmacy location and helped launch a pharmacist-led Hepatitis C treatment program that has achieved clinical cure for more than 250 patients to date. He now serves as Assistant Director of Pharmacy, overseeing Hepatitis C services, population health quality initiatives, and prior authorization programs. Gunnar is deeply committed to advancing access to high-quality care for MedLink’s rural, underserved, Northeast Georgia communities.
