Medium Voltage Field Service Engineer
About the role
We are seeking a Medium Voltage Field Service Engineer to be based in either Northern Illinois/Wisconsin or Texas, however available to travel nationally and/or Canada up to 70%+. The position involves troubleshooting, repairing, and testing products in the field or remotely, primarily on medium voltage products but also across all of our product lines including low voltage variable frequency drives and motion control products. Key responsibilities include advising and training customers, increasing sales and improving the image of Yaskawa products, and enhancing company-wide service capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and advice to customers
- Diagnose and resolve issues with medium voltage products and other Yaskawa products
- Train customers on the use and maintenance of Yaskawa products
- Improve customer satisfaction and sales through effective communication and problem-solving
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of service capabilities
Requirements
- BSEE or BSEET degree or equivalent work experience in servicing automation products, ideally medium voltage, power distribution (2.3kV to 15kV)
- Experience with variable frequency drives, motion control products, PLCs, and HMIs
- Experience with electronic test equipment, diagnosing electronic circuits, and computer skills, preferably including Autocad
Qualifications
While not specified, candidates should have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience with automation products. Previous experience in a similar field is preferred.
