About the role

Kurita America, part of the global Kurita Group, provides water‑treatment solutions through a holistic approach that combines equipment, chemistries, engineering, and services. The Field Technical Service Engineer will maintain existing accounts, grow new business opportunities, and support Kurita’s market position in the Central Region (Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary field technical support contact, resolving technical issues, handling correspondence, providing updates, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate membrane data; supervise customer site cleanings and pilot studies to optimize membrane performance and assess Avista product applications.
  • Develop sales opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Normalize and report customer site data.
  • Network with industry peers, especially membrane manufacturers and Architecture & Engineering (A&E) firms.
  • Author and present regional training and technical papers at conferences.
  • Travel up to 50% to customer sites, trade shows, and workshops.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry) or equivalent experience in the water‑treatment industry.
  • 5+ years of water‑treatment operations or field technical service experience with a water‑treatment equipment/service supplier or membrane plant operations.
  • Understanding of membrane fundamentals and UF/MF/NF/RO processes.
  • Knowledge of basic water chemistry.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for hydraulic (fluid) and electrical equipment and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to achieve results while maintaining positive relationships.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience with water‑treatment design.
  • Knowledge of Clean‑in‑Place (CIP) systems and ability to identify chemical opportunities.
  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment plant design, construction, and operation.
  • Experience using field lab equipment to measure SDI, turbidity, conductivity, and chlorine.

Pay

$80,000 – $110,000, depending on experience.

Schedule

Travel up to 50% of the time to customer sites, trade shows, and workshops.
