About the Role
The Medium Duty Truck Mechanic will be a key contributor to ensuring the quality of our rental fleet is maintained throughout its rental lifespan. You will perform repair, maintenance, and service work on a range of vehicles in our customized rental fleet.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Pay
Hourly rate starting at $27 (or more depending on experience) + overtime.
Responsibilities
- Perform repair, maintenance, and service work on rental fleet vehicles.
- Complete repair and maintenance tasks within set deadlines.
- Understand recall and warranty information from OEMs.
- Utilize and read service manuals.
- Verify all repair and maintenance items are properly installed and complete workshop orders accurately.
- Understand PTR return, check-in, and QC inspection processes.
- Execute all quality and safety standards regarding repair and maintenance procedures.
- Perform electronic vehicle check-ins to capture all billable damages.
- Troubleshoot basic automotive mechanical and electrical problems.
- Prioritize safety, quality, and customer service.
- Escalate judgment calls to the department manager.
- Work with team members and department manager to improve repair and maintenance processes.
- Implement and uphold 5S principles (Sort, Shine, Straighten, Standardize, Sustain) within the workspace to improve efficiency and organization.
Requirements
- 2+ years of mechanical and/or electrical experience or currently enrolled in an automotive or electrical technical school.
- Maintain a good driving record and be properly licensed.
- Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Willingness to purchase required tools.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to work both inside the shop environment and outdoors.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Basic written communication skills and proficiency in using a tablet.
