Project Scope: We are seeking a MEDITECH Expanse Lead Analyst to serve as the design authority across a full Expanse redesign and optimization engagement for a rural community hospital and connected Rural Health Clinic network. This role will lead Wave 2 delivery, serve as the primary technical escalation for live sites, and own final validation and documentation handoff through program completion.
Position Summary: The MEDITECH Expanse Lead Analyst will serve as the named key personnel resource and senior technical lead responsible for discovery, workflow design, UAT, hypercare, and Wave 2 delivery across a phased, multi-site Expanse engagement. This individual will sort all changes into all-site and site-level categories, run baseline and post-go-live documentation time studies, and lead a team of Senior Analysts through Wave 2 go-lives. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of hands-on MEDITECH build experience with at least 3 years on Expanse, and has led an Expanse implementation or optimization at a Critical Access Hospital, RHC network, or community hospital — large-system-only MEDITECH experience does not qualify.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Discovery across all clinic locations and connected ED, Swing Bed, and inpatient workflows.
  • Sort every change into all-site (shared dictionary) and site-level changes.
  • Run baseline, two-week, and 60-day documentation time studies and satisfaction surveys.
  • Lead UAT and hypercare; lead Wave 2 with the Senior Analysts.
  • Deliver final validation and documentation handoff to the client IT team by program completion.

Requirements

  • 7+ years hands-on MEDITECH build experience with 3+ years on Expanse.
  • Led an Expanse implementation or optimization at a Critical Access Hospital, RHC network, or community hospital.
  • Depth in Expanse Ambulatory and Acute including ED and inpatient workflows.
  • Working knowledge of RHC billing and how documentation drives charges.
  • Hands-on work at a Critical Access Hospital, Rural Health Clinic, FQHC, or community hospital under 100 beds — large-system-only MEDITECH experience does not qualify.
  • Ability to travel onsite for go-lives as required.

Skills

  • Preferred Qualifications: Expanse MaaS experience.
  • Clinical background (RN or similar).
  • NPR-based ancillary application experience (Lab, Pharmacy, Radiology).
  • Community-Wide Scheduling and Rules Engine build experience.
  • Ideal Candidate Profile: Senior MEDITECH Expanse expert who has led complex, multi-site implementations in small and rural healthcare environments.
  • Deep clinical workflow knowledge across Ambulatory, Acute, ED, and Swing Bed settings.
  • Strong leader who can guide a team of analysts through a high-pressure, multi-wave go-live program.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a track record of clean documentation, thorough UAT, and reliable post-live stabilization.
  • Brings technical authority, calm under pressure, and a delivery-focused mindset to every engagement.
