Job Purpose
Lend support to the school's Religious and Spiritual Life department and PEA community.
Key Accountabilities
- Serve as a resource for the community towards a broad working understanding of Buddhism, with attention given to both the differences existing between Buddhist sects and the similarities among them.
- Collaborate with members of the Religion, Philosophy, and Ethics department and its students as a resource in the teaching of Buddhism.
- Conduct one-on-one conversations, primarily with students and secondarily with adults from our community, as needed.
- Participate in routine meetings with the Director and other members of the Religious and Spiritual Life staff, to be scheduled at the convenience and availability of those involved.
Position Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Must be a knowledgeable practitioner of Buddhism. Event planning experience preferred. Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting preferred.

- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students by building trust and credibility.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills as well as a strong customer focus.
- A strict adherence to confidential policies is required.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficient in MS Office. Ability to learn additional applications as needed.
- High degree of organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and multi-task with accuracy.
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions, maintain a professional demeanor and restraint at all times, including stressful situations.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusivity and to serving the needs of a diverse and inclusive community with diplomacy and tact.
Additional Requirements
- Successfully complete a criminal background check (reviewed every 5 years).
- Clean Driving record (reviewed annually).
