Medicolegal Investigator I TEMP

Responsibilities

• Responding to and investigating death scenes within Larimer County, conducting comprehensive medicolegal investigations.
• Examining bodies under field conditions, identifying postmortem characteristics, signs of disease, and other distinguishing features.
• Administering proper procedures for making death notifications to next of kin; providing compassionate assistance to families, the community, and law enforcement.
• Reviewing medical records and conducting detailed interviews to gather relevant information.
• Writing complete, accurate, and unbiased reports that meet professional standards.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience or education in a related field, such as applicable medical occupations, law enforcement, criminal justice, qualified training from another Coroner Medical Examiner office, and/or medicolegal investigation, required.
• A High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Documented training in Medical Terminology required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older required.
• Certification through the Colorado Coroner's Association (CCA) as a Colorado Death Investigator, required within one (1) year of hire.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire, required.
