Job Description

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are interested in candidates who wish to be part of a transformative cancer control research program and have research interests and expertise in cancer prevention, lifestyle medicine and survivorship.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct reliable and independent research in cancer prevention and survivorship.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Lifestyle Medicine, Prevention and Digital Health as well as the Cancer Survivorship Program Director.
  • Presents ongoing work and findings to colleagues and at academic/research conferences.
  • Submits scientific papers and abstracts, as well as grant proposals.
  • Participates in the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Junior Development Program.
  • Serves as a mentor and manager for postdoctoral fellows and graduate students engaged in collaborative research projects.
  • Manages the daily operations of the research lab and conducts regular research lab meetings.

Requirements

Candidates should possess a PhD, MD or other doctoral degree in a related behavioral science discipline and have an outstanding record of scholarly publications and extramural funding with exceptional promise in cancer prevention and survivorship research.

Skills
