Position Summary
The Medication Technician (RMA/Med Tech) is responsible for administering medications and treatments, measuring and documenting vital signs, maintaining accurate records, coordinating with healthcare providers, and supervising resident care team members.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments in compliance with physician orders and state regulations.
- Measure and document vital signs and weight.
- Maintain accurate medication administration records and documentation.
- Follow medication room systems and safety procedures per policy.
- Cookordination with physicians, home health, hospice, and emergency protocols as needed.
- Supervise resident care team members to ensure completion of assigned duties when acting as shift lead.
Qualifications & Skills
- State-required Medication Technician (RMA/Med Tech) training and certification, where applicable.
- Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Genuine compassion for older adults and concern for their physical and emotional well-being.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, reach, stoop, or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or assist with moving individuals or objects weighing over 50 lbs.
- Ability to maintain focus on safety, accuracy, and detail for sustained periods.
Requirements
- Annual flu vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions considered).
