About the role
We’re seeking a Medication Technician to oversee medication management and daily ADLs for residents. In this role, you’ll supervise care partner staff, ensure resident care plans are followed, and maintain communication with medical professionals and families to provide consistent, high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications following physician orders and Medication Administration Records (MAR)
- Verify daily documentation and track completion of resident care tasks
- Communicate with the team regarding resident needs and ensure consistent, high-quality service
- Participate in meal service, including serving, clearing, and cleaning the dining room
- Supervise staff during shifts and support their development
- Maintain all required certifications, in-service training, and ongoing education
- Follow all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and Blood Borne Pathogen Guidelines
- Ensure safe work practices and support team members in maintaining safety standards
- Auxiliary with workplace injury investigations and return-to-work processes as needed
- Foster teamwork, take initiative, and positively impact coworkers, residents, and visitors
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prefer one year of care giving experience
- Prefer at least six months of supervisory experience in a health-related field
- Ability to read physician orders and accurately follow Medication Administration Records
- Understanding of medical terminology and basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel) preferred
- Required state certifications for medication administration
- Must meet all health requirements, including TB clearance
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and resolve conflicts
- Pleasant, professional, and personable demeanor
- Must be available for rotating weekends, holidays and breaks
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
- Must meet all health requirements, including TB clearance
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
