Medication Technician
About the role
The Medication Technician is responsible for enhancing the overall Resident experience through the provision of exceptional daily nursing care and service in accordance with each resident's personalized care plan. The Medication Technician assists with activities of daily living, like dressing, eating, grooming, communicating, toileting, personal hygiene and mobility needs, as well as preparing and administering medications according to health care provider instructions and within the scope of Grand Living’s license.
Responsibilities

- Assist with activities of daily living such as dressing, eating, grooming, communicating, toileting, personal hygiene and mobility needs.
- Prepare and administer medications according to health care provider instructions and within the scope of Grand Living’s license.
- Work in accordance with The Sterling Touch® principles of being friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional.
- Provide assistance with ADLs in accordance with each assigned resident’s personalized care plan.
- Observe and provide medication assistance to residents.
- React and communicate during emergencies.
- Communicate with other employees, supervisors, residents and guests.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- 1-2 years of experience working with Seniors preferred, but not required.
- Medication Technician, required.
- Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to provide assistance with ADLs in accordance with each assigned resident’s personalized care plan, observe and provide medication assistance to resident, react and communicate during emergencies, and communicate with other employees, supervisors, residents and guests.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
