About the role

Join our dynamic team at Bickford Senior Living as a Medication Technician. This role supports resident care within the branch, ensuring residents’ daily medication needs are met in a compassionate way that maintains their dignity and allows them to live life to the fullest.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately follow the resident MAR to ensure medications are given according to physician’s orders.
  • Understand and follow the “Six rights of medication administration” and all Bickford policies and procedures regarding medication management.
  • Appropriately utilize the eMAR system for medication administration.
  • Communicate with clinical leadership for clarification and direction regarding resident medication administration and care.
  • Provide direct resident care.
  • Supervise resident care work of non-licensed team members and other areas of the branch as appropriate.
  • Lead by demonstrating the Bickford Mission “Whatever it Takes” to all other team members on shift.

Qualifications

  • Active Medication Technician Certification in good standing or at least one year of experience in senior care.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Willing to take additional training or education as required by specific states.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to utilize or learn Bickford’s eMAR system to administer medications.
