Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer oral, topical, and approved PRN medications under the delegation and supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with West Virginia AMAP regulations.
- Accurately document medication administration and monitor clients for side effects, adverse reactions, or changes in condition.
- Maintain secure medication storage, medication carts, medication records, and controlled documentation systems.
- Report medication concerns, incidents, refusals, or discrepancies promptly to nursing leadership.
- Assist with medication counts, inventory management, and medication room organization.
- Support clients in maintaining treatment compliance and participating in their recovery plans.
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, therapists, and recovery support staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities.
- Provide compassionate, respectful interactions that support a positive treatment environment.
Qualifications
- Current West Virginia AMAP (Approved Medication Assistive Personnel) Certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass all required background screenings and pre-employment requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience
- In behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, residential treatment, healthcare, or long-term care settings.
- CPR certification.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
