Medication CNA - Grand Island Internal Medicine Clinic

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a CNA to join our Internal Medicine team, this role is located at the Grand Island Internal Medicine Clinic in Grand Island, NE. The CNA will be responsible for assisting basic patient care tasks, such as monitoring vital signs, aiding with daily activities, and ensuring patient comfort.

Responsibilities

• Support the nursing care of patients by performing duties according to standards and policies.
• Promote efficient operation of the clinic and provide assistance to physicians and support staff.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• 40‑hour Medication Aide Registry course.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (BLS with skills assessment or approved BLS) from an American Heart Association‑endorsed program (required upon completion of unit orientation; effective for new hires starting Jan 1 2023 or later).
• Passing score on DHHS state written and skills exams.
• Active on Medication Aide Registry listing (or completed within first 12 months of hire/transfer and maintained thereafter).
• Medication Aide Injectable Online + Lab Course completion.
• Preferred: Prior experience as a nursing assistant.
• Preferred: Knowledge of patient care equipment and supplies, policies, procedures, protocol manuals, audiovisual, video, microscopic equipment, computers, telecommunication equipment, and wall/ceiling and tanked medical gases.
• Preferred: Ability to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish for some clinical areas.

Schedule

Full‑time (1.0 FTE), 40 scheduled weekly hours, Monday‑Friday, 8 AM‑5 PM. No weekends, holidays, or call required.
