About the Role

The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision, addressing physical and psychological needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and transferring using proper techniques.
  • Record vital signs, collect non-invasive specimens, and monitor residents' health status.
  • Administer prescribed medications within scope of practice and document care outcomes.
  • Support psycho-social well-being through personal care and recreational activities.
  • Help with food preparation, dining, housekeeping, and laundry to maintain a clean environment.
  • Communicate changes in resident condition and collaborate with nursing staff.
  • Encourage participation in wellness and recreational programs.
  • Participate in departmental committees as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum age 18.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
  • Completion of state-specific certification courses (CNA, CMA, TMA) required.
  • Maintain annual continuing education credits and required certifications.

Skills
