Responsibilities

  • Makes sure the medication management program is running smoothly under the supervision of the Wellness Manager.
  • Aids the Wellness Manager in overseeing the daily care provided to residents.
  • Assists the Wellness Manager with training assisted living staff.
  • Monitors the medication program.
  • Updates records in the medication administrative files.
  • Assists in setting up and administering self-administered medication.
  • Orders and receives medication.
  • Keeps medications in designated storage areas and ensures all areas are secure.
  • Regularly reviews and reports any discrepancies in the resident’s medication administration record.
  • Maintains and updates the medication files and medical records.
  • Maintains open communication with the pharmacy, families, residents, and management staff.
  • Aids in updating service plans and care logs as needed.
  • Helps residents make doctor’s appointments and travel arrangements.
  • Trains assisted living staff and participates in the orientation of new staff.
  • Performs room visits and checks on a regular basis.
  • Assists with resident care as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must successfully complete Atria’s Medication Training.
  • Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
