Responsibilities
- Makes sure the medication management program is running smoothly under the supervision of the Wellness Manager.
- Aids the Wellness Manager in overseeing the daily care provided to residents.
- Assists the Wellness Manager with training assisted living staff.
- Monitors the medication program.
- Updates records in the medication administrative files.
- Assists in setting up and administering self-administered medication.
- Orders and receives medication.
- Keeps medications in designated storage areas and ensures all areas are secure.
- Regularly reviews and reports any discrepancies in the resident’s medication administration record.
- Maintains and updates the medication files and medical records.
- Maintains open communication with the pharmacy, families, residents, and management staff.
- Aids in updating service plans and care logs as needed.
- Helps residents make doctor’s appointments and travel arrangements.
- Trains assisted living staff and participates in the orientation of new staff.
- Performs room visits and checks on a regular basis.
- Assists with resident care as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must successfully complete Atria’s Medication Training.
- Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
