Responsibilities

• Maintain a neat, clean appearance and dress according to policy.
• Remain alert and awake for the entire shift.
• Answer pagers promptly and address seniors' needs quickly in a kind, considerate manner.
• Uphold seniors' rights and promote independence.
• Be aware of dietary needs and assist seniors with their diet as necessary.
• Strive for a safe, accident-free environment.
• Attend in-services and perform duties in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Arrive at work on time and listen to the report from the previous shift.
• Assist the previous shift with any pending tasks before the end of their shift.
• Pass medications in a sanitary manner, adhering to all medication policies.
• Chart appropriately for each resident, including accurate medication documentation.
• Write objective information to pass along to other shifts.
• Report any change in a senior’s condition directly to the LPN/RN and follow protocols.
• Assist seniors with minimal care such as bathing, dressing, making beds, and ensuring they reach the dining room.
• Ensure an adequate supply of medicine is available for each senior.
• Collaborate with other employees to maintain a pleasant atmosphere for seniors and staff.
• Report directly to the LPN or administrator.
