Medicare Member Ambassador
About the role
Blue Cross NC is seeking enthusiastic Member Ambassadors to join our team and help connect with and support our community. The role involves representing Blue Cross NC at community events, supporting both potential and existing members, and advocating for those needing assistance.
Responsibilities
- Support Blue Cross NC at Community Events: Assist volunteers and sales reps during various community outreach events, helping to set up, engage with attendees, and ensure a welcoming and informative environment.
- Share Personal Experiences: Use your personal journey and satisfaction with our health plan to authentically connect with potential members and encourage them to consider our plan/plans.
- Member Support: Help existing members connect with member services for any questions or issues they might encounter, ensuring they receive the support they need.
- Advocate for Members: Act as a liaison and advocate for members experiencing issues with their health plan, ensuring their concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
Requirements
- Must be a current member of our Blue Medicare Advantage plan.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Reliable transportation to attend various community events and sales meetings.
- Comfortable with email communication and online module training.
- Friendly, approachable, and possess an empathetic demeanor.
- Passionate about helping others and advocating for their needs.
- Previous customer service experience in related fields (hospitality, banking, healthcare) is a plus but not required.

Pay
$41,600.00 - $66,561.00
Schedule
This part-time role is primarily remote, with occasional in-person support at Medicare community events. Local ambassadors may also choose to work from our Blue Cross NC headquarters occasionally. Ambassadors are not regularly scheduled in our Beyond Blue Neighborhood Centers. This approach reflects our Hybrid Flex model, centered on “presence with a purpose,” where time onsite is intentional and focused on key moments that support our members, strengthen collaboration, and build community. Hours vary based on business needs and event schedules, and consistent weekly hours are not guaranteed. Specific expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
