About the role

The Medicare Field Sales & Community Agent is responsible for compliantly achieving established monthly, quarterly, and annual Medicare Advantage (D-SNP) new enrollment and retention goals. The agent must work in collaboration with team members and other Alameda Alliance for Health (AAH) department personnel to develop and execute an effective growth and retention strategy, leveraging relationships with providers, community organizations, and influencers through community events, co-marketing programs, and targeted outreach.

The agent will report to the Manager, Medicare Sales and Retention and will be assigned responsibilities based on product offerings, geographic, or market segmentation criteria. The role involves generating new enrollments, achieving retention targets, and complying with CMS, DMHC, and DHCS guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve a minimum of 60 enrollments per month (average of 3 enrollments per working day).
  • Maintain a minimum 85% quality adherence score monthly, ensuring accuracy in application submissions and adherence to sales protocols.
  • Demonstrate 85% adherence to federal and state regulations, including CMS Medicare Marketing Guidelines and California-specific requirements.
  • Prioritize member and prospective member needs, assisting with enrollment via face-to-face, online, group, or telephonic channels.
  • Represent AAH Medicare D-SNP programs professionally to members, prospects, providers, and partners.
  • Assist prospective members in understanding AAH’s products, services, mission, and value proposition.
  • Collaborate with internal staff, providers, and community partners to engage, educate, and enroll existing AAH Dual Eligible Medi-Cal members.
  • Provide staffing and support for member retention activities organized by the sales department or other AAH departments.
  • Evaluate activities in relation to CMS and compliance guidelines, ensuring data validation and internal controls.
  • Provide market-level feedback to sales and marketing leaders regarding the competitive landscape.
  • Utilize core sales systems for lead and sales funnel management, reporting, and expense tracking.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, company staff, partners, and providers.
  • Manage the enrollment application process for new members as established by Sales Leadership, CMS, and Compliance.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate Broker Agencies to enroll members, if applicable.
  • Resolve member or prospect issues by capturing information and relaying it to the appropriate AAH department.
  • Provide feedback to improve member materials and experiences.
  • Organize and facilitate sales project-related meetings as necessary.
  • Support the Project Management Office (PMO) and enterprise-wide activities based on availability.
  • Adapt to changes in requirements and priorities for daily and specialized tasks.
  • Produce accurate work, detect discrepancies, and resolve them while meeting deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 2026/2027 AHIP Certification required.
  • Vaccination against seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
  • Cleared TB test prior to or within seven days of hire.
  • Evidence of immunity to Tdap, Hepatitis B, MMR, and Varicella.
  • Two to four years of related work experience in a Medicare Advantage (MA) Plan or Medicare Advantage Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (MA-DSNP).
  • Two years of Medicare Sales experience or equivalent experience selling or supporting seniors, including a general understanding of Medicare and related products in face-to-face or telephonic settings.
  • Must live in or within reasonable driving distance to Alameda County, California.
  • Approximately 80% of time spent in provider offices or conference rooms.
  • Willingness to occasionally work irregular hours based on business needs.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and CRM database software.
  • Good understanding of agency distribution channel management and industry regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently with strong time and territory management skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong ethical foundation and trustworthy character.
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and own vehicle.
  • California Health and Accident or Life, Health and Accident License.

Physical Requirements

Pay

Salary range: $83,241.60 - $124,862.40 annually, with an estimated 60% base salary and 40% commission based on a tiered structure.
