Medical Waste Containers-Class A Haz Driver

Daniels Health is seeking a CDL Hazmat Class A Driver to join their team in Fresno, CA.

About the role

This is a full-time, permanent position requiring 40–45 hours per week. The schedule includes driving over the road (OTR) for 10–14 days, followed by approximately 30 days of local routes before the next OTR assignment. OTR trips start at approximately 5AM and may include sleeping in a sleeper tractor with a $35 per day meal allowance.

Responsibilities

• Safely collect, deliver, and store medical waste containers at customer locations
• Provide strong customer service and build positive customer relationships
• Perform drop and hook operations (minimal live unload)
• Operate vehicles safely, including straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long
• Complete deliveries on schedule and communicate changes or challenges promptly
• Load and unload cargo, prioritizing and organizing the truck per schedule and needs
• Manage routes as directed by leadership to deliver timely, efficient, and effective service
• Comply with DOT regulations, log hours, and pass roadside inspections
• Perform heavy lifting as required

Requirements

• CDL Hazmat Class A license with a clean driving record and valid medical card
• Ability to run out-of-state routes
• Passing a 7-year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• Experience operating vehicles safely, including straight trucks and tractor trailers up to 53 feet long

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Six months of driving experience with tractor trailers and/or straight trucks
• Strong customer service skills and a flexible, can-do attitude
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, and roadside inspections
• Confidence in handling roadside checks (level 1 through level 3)
• Proven on-time delivery practices

Pay

$29.00/hour (non-negotiable, set rate)
