Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician

Job Summary

Wallowa Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our Laboratory team. In this role, you will perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests that are essential for the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of diseases.

Responsibilities

• Collecting and/or receiving specimens for analysis
• Conducting laboratory testing in key areas such as bacteriology, hematology, serology, chemistry, and blood banking
• Performing some morphological examinations
• Accurately recording and reporting test results
• Assisting with related laboratory duties as needed

Qualifications

• MT: Completion of training in an approved school for Medical Technologists, including 12 consecutive months of training OR completion of a 4 year course approved school with a major in one of the Biological or Physical Sciences
• MLT: Completion of two year course at an approved school for Medical Laboratory Technicians AND graduate from an approved school OR a two-year college degree from an accredited institution in the Biological or Physical Sciences
• Current certification or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months from a recognized professional organization such as ASCP, AMT or an equivalent credential
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse populations
• Ability to meet the physical and functional requirements outlined in the job description

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screen and reference checks

Pay

Salary Range: MT: $44.28 / MLT: $37.44 + DOE + Shift Differential
