Medical Technologist/ MLT/ MLS | Laboratory, Full-Time, 2nd Shift

What You'll Do

• Performs laboratory tests in designated clinical areas
• Reports panic values appropriately
• Performs quality control according to protocol
• Performs calibration according to procedures
• Performs daily, scheduled, and periodic maintenance on various equipment
• Promotes excellent customer service throughout the facility
• Affords assistance with training of students from various colleges and technical schools
• Affords assistance with the development of departmental policies and procedures
• Maintains procedures and quality control records in clinical areas
• Affords resources for Medical Technologists and Technicians in designated clinical area
• Affords assistance to Medical Assistants as needed
• Collections blood specimens (e.g. venous, capillary, etc.) and urine specimens following proper collection procedures
• Performs collections for health screens at external locations
• Collects patient functions in Health Information System / Laboratory Information System (e.g. registrations, order entry, updates tests, prints labels, enters and releases results, etc., as stated in computer manual, etc.)
• Answers telephone; takes and relays messages; communicates test results
• Maintains adequate inventory levels
• Works flexible hours to adequately staff department

Requirements

• Completion of Bachelors of Science degree (BS)
• Certified as Medical Lab Technologist (American Society for Clinical Pathology)

Shift: 2nd

Hours: 80 per pay (Every two weeks)
