Medical Technologist/Med Lab Tech-Testing-Critical Care Laboratory
About the role
The Critical Care Laboratory provides comprehensive, time-sensitive laboratory services to patients with various diagnoses or admission/discharge criteria. It utilizes a total laboratory automated system that delivers specimens to automated chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, blood gases, immunochemistry, and coagulation analyzers. The lab offers training for residents, new staff, and medical technology students. The laboratory operates 24/7, Sunday through Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Conducts tests on specimens using automated systems and traditional methods.
- Ensures accuracy and timely reporting of test results.
- Provides technical support and training to residents, new staff, and medical technology students.
- Adheres to safety protocols and maintains a clean, organized work environment.
Requirements
- Associates’ degree in medical technology or biological science.
- MLT (ASCP) certification required within one year of hire.
Qualifications
- Experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Proficiency with laboratory automation systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care principles.
