About the role
DuBois Regional Medical Center d/b/a Penn Highlands DuBois seeks Medical Technologists to work in DuBois, PA.
Responsibilities
- Receiving patient specimens and performing both qualitative & quantitative tests according to documented policy and procedures.
- Performing maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment as required by policy.
- Performing required quality control and calibrations and taking appropriate documented remedial action when the quality control is not within limits.
- Establishing procedures for new laboratory restest to be introduced into the Laboratory.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Medical Laboratory Science or a directly related field.
- Must be able to work independently on afternoon and night shifts.
- Must have an ICHP VisaScreen Certificate, if applicable.
- Must have American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist.
Qualifications
- Degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred.
- Must be trained and registered as a Medical Technologist with ASCP or AMT required within one year of hire.
- Good reasoning and communication skills with the ability to multi-task.
- If you hold a certificate that does not expire - you must be a member with either ASCP or AMT.
- If you are on a maintenance program with expiration -- you are not required to be a member but must maintain your certification.
