Medical Technologist - James Laboratory Support Services

About the role

The Clinical Lab Professional 2 will provide primary support to the Powell Laboratory, and secondary support to ancillary James' laboratory locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine automated and manual testing procedures, dispatches specimens to appropriate testing locations.
• Performs test requisition entry, ensures accuracy of test results, documents quality control, quality assurance and preventative maintenance on instrumentation.
• Verifies reports, test request, accuracy and quality of specimens collected and trains others in these techniques.
• Handles phone inquiries regarding patient results, specimen collection and testing frequency.
• Works under the direction of the lab manager and lead technologists.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Med Lab Science or Biological Science.
• American Society of Clinical Pathology Certification in Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Scientist within 1 year of hire.
• 0 years of relevant experience required.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
