Medical Technologist II Full Time Nights Job ID: 1735575

Job Summary

Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to supervisor or manager.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Bachelor of Science with a chemical, physical or biologic science as a major subject and minimum one year training in a clinical laboratory or associate in arts in Medical Laboratory Science with a full semester of hospital training.
• Minimum 1 year in hospital experience preferred in the field.
• Required licensures/certifications: Experience in 5 of the following, Blood Bank experience preferred:
• Serology Technologist
• Clinical Chemistry Technologist
• Microbiology Technologist
• Hematology Technologist
• Immunohematology Technologist
• Molecular Pathology Technologist

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge and understanding of the Laboratory workflow.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
