Job Summary

Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited MLT program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Bachelor of Science with a chemical, physical or biologic science as a major subject and minimum one year training in a clinical laboratory or associate in arts in Medical Laboratory Science with a full semester of hospital training.
• Minimum 1 year in hospital experience preferred in the field.
• Required Licensures/certifications: Experience Required license in 5 of the following, Blood Bank experience preferred: Serology Technologist, Clinical Chemistry Technologist, Microbiology Technologist, Hematology Technologist, Immunohematology Technologist, Molecular Pathology Technologist.
