Pay

Hiring Range: $35.50 - $54.18. Please note that the final offer may vary within this range based on a candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, with every third weekend and every third holiday
• Scheduled Hours: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (8-hour evening shift)
• 32 hours per week
• Rotation covers weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Under the general supervision of the area Section Heads and Laboratory Supervisor, and according to established policies and procedures, you will perform a variety of laboratory tests and report data for use in diagnosis and treatment of patients. You may perform procedures across major areas of the laboratory or concentrate in one area such as Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, or Microbiology. No supervision is required for specimen processing or reporting of patient test results.

Responsibilities

• Follow established protocols to perform various tests, including the most complex, for an assigned area.
• Provide guidance and consultation to Medical Technologist I’s and Medical Lab Technicians in the interpretation of complex or unusual test results.
• Interpret and correlate clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition to explain test results (normal/abnormal) so that appropriate action can be taken.
• Troubleshoot testing process discrepancies.
• Assist in developing new tests and quality procedures for assigned area.
• Ensure that test results meet requirements of the laboratory quality control program.
• Work with considerable independence to perform and interpret various chemical, microscopic, and/or bacteriologic tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
• Be fully proficient in the use of all equipment and procedures for an assigned area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or successful completion of an accredited four-year school of Medical Technology (required).
• ASCP certification as an MT (preferred).
• Three years of related experience.
