Medical Technologist II, 24hr, Eve

About the role

This position is open to current UMass Memorial Health caregivers. The role involves performing and interpreting various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. It also requires guiding and consulting Medical Technologist I's and technicians in interpreting complex test results.

Responsibilities

• Follows established protocols to perform various tests, including complex ones.
• Provides guidance and consultation to Medical Technologist I’s and technicians.
• Interprets and correlates clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition.
• Troubleshoots testing process discrepancies.
• Aids in the development of new tests and quality procedures for assigned areas.
• Safeguards that test results meet the laboratory quality control program requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or successful completion of an accredited four-year school of Medical Technology.
• Three years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Preferred: ASCP certification as an MT.

Skills

Full proficiency in the use of all equipment and procedures for an assigned area.

Benefits

The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, which will be discussed during the recruitment process.

Pay

$35.50 - $54.18 per hour
