Medical Technologist II
About the role
Performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems. Evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods. Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies. Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation. May assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions such as performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, and computer systems. Trains new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serves as a resource for less experienced staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities

- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Licensure: American Society for Clinical Pathology
- Preferred National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification
- Education: Associate's Degree Medical Technology Required; Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Science Preferred
- Experience: 2 Years Clinical - Clinical Laboratory - Moderate and High Complexity Testing Preferred
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited medical technology program

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with laboratory equipment and computer systems
