About the role
Assist in delivering safe, high-quality nuclear medicine imaging and therapeutic procedures. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic data and support patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals.
- Operate imaging equipment and ensure patient safety.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and manage supplies.
- Dispose of radioactive waste per regulations.
- Follow radiation safety protocols and verify physician orders for appropriate procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explain procedures, and address their needs.
- Perform quality control on equipment and ensure proper image processing.
- Document activities and support departmental performance improvement.
- Participate in training, research, and educational initiatives.
- Maintain professional standards, adhere to regulatory guidelines, and foster a respectful environment.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field; Bachelor's preferred.
- 2+ years of nuclear medicine experience.
- Certified as CNMT or ARRT (N) upon hire.
- BLS certification required.
- State licensure in Maryland or Virginia if applicable.
