About the role
Supports high quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory. Prepares specimens for testing, performs routine and specialized laboratory tests, performs quality control, troubleshoots quality control errors and maintenance procedures, recognizes and evaluates computer data problems, troubleshoots laboratory instruments, performs preventative maintenance, communicates technical information to medical and lay persons, assists with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures, participates in continuing education, recognizes normal and abnormal values, and models Standards of Behavior in daily interactions and activities.

Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related medical or scientific discipline with 0-1 year experience
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC)
- If not certified, must be registry eligible and successfully obtain certification within the first year of employment
Qualifications
- Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, working in confined/cramped spaces, performing job functions from kneeling positions, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, squatting, performing "pinching" operations, performing gross motor activities with fingers and hands, performing firm grasping with fingers and hands, performing fine manipulation with fingers and hands, reaching overhead, performing repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, using both legs, using lower extremities for balance and coordination, reaching in all directions, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. unassisted, lifting/lowering objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted, lifting from 36" to overhead 25 lbs., exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, maintaining 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes, seeing and recognizing objects close at hand or at a distance, matching or discriminating between colors, determining distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, having good peripheral vision capabilities, maintaining hearing acuity, with correction, performing gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, dealing effectively with stressful situations, working rotating shifts, working overtime as required, working in a latex safe environment, maintaining tactile sensory functions, having good olfactory sensory function, being qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
