Medical Technologist I

About the role

The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist plays a crucial role in the provider care team by assisting with diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient conditions through technical and scientific knowledge. This position is responsible for performing accurate, precise, and timely laboratory tests, evaluating and reporting results, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and report test results accurately and promptly.
• Achieve compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service in accordance with Mercy Signature Service standards.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient care.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent.
• MLT or MLS certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical laboratory experience.

Qualifications

• MT(ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
