Job Description

  • Performs and monitors testing procedures.
  • Monitors the quality control and quality assurance programs on an ongoing basis.
  • Adheres to safety and infection control procedures.
  • Ensures station(s) is in compliance with CAP, Joint Commission, CLIA and AABB regulations.

Hours

Week 1: 1-9:30pm (Wed, Thu, Fri)
Week 2: 1-9:30pm (Sun, Wed, Thu)
Week 3: 1-9:30pm (Wed, Thu, Fri)
Week 4: 1-9:30pm (Sun, Wed, Thu)

Essential Responsibilities

  • Performs and monitors testing procedures.
  • Maintains quality control and quality assurance programs.
  • Adheres to safety and infection control procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory or Life Sciences required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory or Life Sciences preferred.
  • 0-1 years related work experience required.
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as Medical Technologist by ASCP (or equivalent national certifying agency).
  • Recent graduate eligible for certification.

  • Customer Service: Ability to provide high-level customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem-solving.
  • Age Based Competencies: Competent to provide patient care to neonatal (birth to 6 months), youth (6 months to 16 years), young adult (16-30 years), middle-aged (30-60 years), and elderly (60+) patients.

Physical Nature of the Job

  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally.

Additional Information

  • BID Needham will pay a $4,000 bonus (in two payments over 12 months) to hired candidates for this position.
  • The bonus is structured as follows: $2,000 on the pay date following 30 days of hire; and, another $2,000 on the pay date following 12 months of service in the role.
  • Eligibility details:
    • Employees applying internally from within BID Needham or another BILH entity are not eligible for this signing bonus program.
    • Re-hires may receive signing bonuses if they terminated their employment with BID Needham more than a year before new hire date. This includes students, volunteers, and interns who have worked (paid or unpaid) at BID Needham.
    • New employees must be in good standing at the bonus payout dates to receive payout.
    • Candidates who are referred by a current employee will receive their bonus as part of the employee referral program.
    • Bonus eligible jobs are subject to change based on the hospital's hiring needs and will be determined by Human Resources on an ongoing basis. HR reserves the right to change the bonus eligible jobs at any time.
    • All payouts are subject to standard state and federal tax withholdings and are processed through payroll.

Pay Range

$38.52 – $51.84
