MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST (FT)

Job Summary

The Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist assures that care is delivered to all patients within established legal, ethical, laboratory and hospital guidelines. Perform all laboratory procedures with accuracy, competence, and assurance that appropriate education and experience have been met and that the necessary training for the type and complexity of testing performed has been obtained.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Biological, Physical, or Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology or equivalent with registration as a Medical Technologist or equivalent; with current registration through one of the licensed agencies is preferred, and/or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and with the eligibility for high complexity testing.
• An Associates degree in Medical Technology approved program with registration in H.E.W. as a MT.
• A High School Diploma with appropriate clinical training and documentation with registration in H.E.W. as a MT.

Licensure/Certification/Registry

Medical Technologist (MT) Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent is required.

Experience

A minimum of two years of general clinical laboratory experience in all major specialties is required.
