Medical Technologist - Core Laboratory

Role: Medical Technologist in the Core Laboratory, specializing in Clinical Microbiology. Responsibilities: Conduct routine and specialized tests in Bacteriology, Virology, Mycobacteriology, Parasitology, and Mycology following established protocols. Process and receive specimens, perform quality control, calibrations, and troubleshoot testing issues. Document corrective actions and ensure accurate reporting of results via the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Interact with clients regarding test results, questions, and complaints. Maintain compliance with procedures and attend team meetings or review notes. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field, with at least two years of relevant experience. Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP. Strong understanding of laboratory equipment, LIS functions, and quality assurance. Excellent communication, leadership, and professional judgment in evaluating complex data and handling nonstandard situations. Additional Information: Ability to perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic testing, respond to testing problems, and ensure compliance with procedures. Preferred availability for afternoon shifts, including weekends and holidays on rotation.
