What You'll Do
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests including CBC, urinalysis, coagulation, serology, and parasitology.
- Operate and maintain automated laboratory instrumentation according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain and troubleshoot assays and instrumentation.
- Document each lab activity accurately and efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with other lab and hospital personnel, including clinicians, technicians, and students, to meet turnaround times for patient testing.
- Participate in weekend, holiday, and on-call work, scheduled on a rotating basis.
- Provide customer service, including interactions with clinicians, technicians, and students.
- Perform clerical tasks such as sample accessioning, troubleshooting patient test orders, preparing sample shipments to outside labs, documenting laboratory maintenance and quality control, and writing or reviewing SOPs.
- Stay current on email communications and participate in educational activities for students.
- Assist with assigned projects and learn new skills.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks, including housekeeping duties.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in a science-based field (Associate's or Bachelor's level) is required.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a diagnostic lab setting is preferred.
- MLT or MT certification with a strong understanding of diagnostic assays, quality control, and troubleshooting is preferred.
- Good communication and organizational skills are essential.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team is necessary.
Pay
Pay Range: Minimum $33.65, Midpoint $40.10, Maximum $46.60. Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
