About the role
We are seeking a Medical Technologist to join our team at Central Carolina Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health. Our mission is to make communities healthier through exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Follows standardized procedures and prepares samples for testing.
- Collects samples and analyzes bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities.
- Collections blood and studies blood samples used in transfusions.
- Operates laboratory equipment in a high-quality, effective manner.
- Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and reports/document results per organizational standards.
- Performs automated tests using computerized instruments & automated equipment.
- Runs tests and analyzes the results to be reported to the physician or registered nurse.
- Performs Quality Assurance work to ensure accuracy of equipment.
Requirements
- ASCP, AMT, or North Carolina State License.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Qualifications
Central Carolina Hospital is a 137-bed acute care hospital with a rich history of providing exceptional care to the Lee County community. We are recognized as a Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center by the Joint Commission and American College of Cardiology, and we have earned Heart Failure Accreditation from the American College of Cardiology.
