About the role
The Medical Technologist is responsible for accurately performing a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests and reporting results within the expected turnaround time to assist healthcare providers in delivering optimal patient outcomes. Performs required equipment maintenance, calibration, and quality control testing per departmental procedures. Must be available to sign up for on-call shifts and provide coverage for other shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Additional tasks include specimen transport, specimen processing for in-house and send-out testing, answering telephone calls, and reviewing pending logs.
Schedule
- Option 1: 4-10’s (Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM)
- Option 2: 5-8’s (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM)
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Lab Science, Biological Sciences, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Associates Degree in Medical Lab Technology with HEW certification is also acceptable.
- Certification required (ASCP or AMT) or eligible to take the exam. Must successfully complete certification within 18 months of hire.
