Medical Technologist, ASCP - PRN Bluebonnet

About the role

Join us as a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technologist and make a difference! Perform routine and special clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens, correlate and interpret data based on knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Performs various laboratory diagnostic tests on patient specimens.
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the operation and principles of departmental instrumentation.
• Accurately interprets and reports laboratory test results.
• Communicates effectively with physicians, nursing staff, co-workers and other organizational staff.
• Observes and follows established departmental environment of care and safety protocols and practices.
• Attends departmental, organizational and continuing education meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT) license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners required.
• OR
• Clinical Laboratory Technician (MLT) license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners required.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must have the ability to exercise judgment in applying practices, procedures, and techniques to resolve clearly defined work-related issues.
