Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers to ensure proper functionality.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and controls.
• Perform and document maintenance and quality control procedures on analyzers.
• Identify and replenish testing supplies as necessary.
• Assist with phlebotomy and processing when needed.
• Answer phone calls, maintain logs/records, and maintain computerized databases.
• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
• Maintain a safe work environment including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• NYS License required.
