About the role
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pathology seeks a full-time Medical Technologist 1.
Responsibilities
- Prepares cultures of tissue samples.
- Establishes and monitors programs ensuring data accuracy.
- Examines slides of bodily fluids using microscope or other relevant equipment.
- Crossmatches blood for transfusions.
- Analyzes urine chemically to identify toxic components and collects and studies blood samples to determine morphology.
- Operates, calibrates, and safeguards laboratory equipment.
- Delivers test results to physicians, researchers, and patients.
- Evaluates laboratory reports for accuracy.
- Identifies unusual results and takes appropriate action to make corrections and solve problems.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in relevant field required.
- Valid State of Florida Medical Technologist license required.
