Medical Surgical Technician (FT) Surgical 2

Responsibilities

• Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values
• Aid with patient care to complete tasks, perform orders, and document interventions in accordance with scope of service under supervision of licensed nurse
• Perform or assist with performing nutritional/hydration interventions (feeding, providing fluids, or snacks)
• Support optimal daily operation of the department by performing tasks associated with general unit organization and cleanliness, maintaining department supplies, and clerical duties
• Initiate and maintain the hygiene/cleanliness of the patients, the patient’s environment, and the unit environment
• Aid with transportation of patients and utilization of appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff
• Foster an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families, and visitors. Contribute to the overall performance of the department and participate proactively in problem solving initiatives
• Float to other departments as needed
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy, CNA, or EMT certification or 1-year clinical experience

Requirements

• Degrees: High School/Ged
• Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support
