Medical Support Assistant - Michigan Spine and Brain Surgeons - Contingent/Days - Southfield

Shift: Contingent – hours will vary (Day Shift, 8AM-5PM, no weekends). Primary location: Providence Medical Building, 22250 Providence Drive, Southfield, MI 48075. Occasional travel to Rochester, Warren, and Novi as needed.

About the role

Under direct supervision of the provider and/or nursing leadership, the Medical Support Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to the exam room
• Obtain medical histories
• Measure and record vital signs
• Prepare patients for examination or procedure
• Assist the provider during the examination or procedure

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• At least one (1) year of related experience preferred
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred
• Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care preferred
• Problem-solving ability preferred
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred

Certifications/Licensures

• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation
