About the role
The Medical Staff Member supports the daily operations of the on-site medical office under the direction of the Medical Director. This role provides administrative and operational support while assisting with player health documentation, incident reporting, and communication with families and staff.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming telephone calls and make outgoing calls as needed, including regularly monitoring and responding to voicemail messages.
- Respond promptly to incoming and outgoing emails related to medical registration and player documentation.
- Aid parents and teams with questions regarding medical and registration forms.
- Review registration materials for completeness and follow up with families and teams to obtain missing information.
- Record and maintain accurate documentation within team files.
- Organize and maintain player rosters, team folders, and medical records in an orderly manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional medical office environment.
- Document and organize all incident reports and ensure proper filing procedures are followed.
- Communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors, especially regarding ongoing issues or in the event of absence.
- Monitor and advise supervisor of needed medical or office supplies and report shortages.
- Operate handheld two-way radios and ensure devices are charged and rotated appropriately.
- Assist with additional medical office or event-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma, GED, or be currently attending a local high school.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical and personal information.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and weekends as determined by supervisor.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a medical office, camp setting, or administrative role.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience working with children and families.
- Familiarity with medical documentation or incident reporting procedures.
