Medical Screener - Reception Technician (Customer Service) (Bilingual – English/Spanish)

About the role

Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Assess the self‑administered health history.
• Answer basic medical questions associated with the donation process.
• Refer donors to medical staff when appropriate.
• Perform health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature.
• Perform finger stick to obtain sample for donor’s hematocrit and total protein levels.
• Upon completion of appropriate training, educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma, including explaining the screening process, health screening tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, proper nutrition, and other pertinent information.
• Ensure donor questions are answered timely, accurately, and professionally.
• May be involved in registering applicant and transfer donors based on training completion and operational needs.
• Answer the telephone, answer callers’ questions, or transfer calls to appropriate staff.
• Maintain alertness and awareness to any donor reaction during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
